Marble Sort Level 214 Guide: The Cross-Locked Key Trap

Welcome to one of the most obnoxious setups in the game. Marble Sort Level 214 hits you with a nasty cross-dependency right out of the gate. You cannot just match colors and hope for the best here.

This board is dominated by Reds, Light Blues, Purples, and Oranges. The Top Tray is split into two very distinct sections. On the left, you have a skinny, isolated column. On the right, you have a massive, dense block of marbles. Down below, the starting bottom Boxes line up three tempting Orange slots right across the front.

Do not fall for it. This level is completely controlled by a dual Lock and Key setup. The keys you need are buried on opposite sides of the board. If you do not execute the exact sequence to break these locks, your Conveyor Belt will jam before you even clear the third row. Let’s break down exactly how to pull this apart.

The Cross-Locked Board Pattern in Marble Sort Level 214

Let’s read the board. The Top Tray is designed to bait you into a quick loss.

Look at the single stack on the left. At the very bottom, you have two Reds. Above them sits a White box completely choked by a Gold Lock. Above that is a Yellow box, and sitting at the very peak is the Purple Key. You need that Purple Key to finish the right side of the board. But you cannot touch it until you find the Gold Key.

Now look at the massive right cluster. The bottom row exposes two Light Blues and a single Purple. Above that, things get messy with Greens, Blues, and Connected Boxes featuring Orange and Pink. Buried in the third row on the far right is the Gold Key box. Above the middle sits a Purple Lock chaining down two massive Gift Boxes.

The lower Boxes are pure bait. You see an Orange row straight across columns 1, 2, and 3. You want to clear them. But the only Orange marbles in the Top Tray are tied to Pink marbles as Connected Boxes. If you try to force those Oranges early, you drag Pinks down onto the Conveyor Belt. There are no Pink bottom Boxes available at the start. Your belt will instantly clog.

The right side of the board is your only safe entry point. Column 4 of the bottom Boxes starts with a Purple. That is your actual starting line. The entire early game is a race to dig up the right side, grab the Gold Key, unlock the left side, and then send the Purple Key back over to unchain the Gift Boxes.

Follow this exact sequence to avoid the Orange trap and keep your belt clean.

Bypassing the Orange Bait in Marble Sort Level 214

Your first taps must be incredibly disciplined. Ignore the three Orange Boxes staring at you.

1. Tap the Purple box located on the bottom right of the Top Tray. This drops perfectly into the exposed Purple bottom Box in column 4.
2. Tap the two Light Blue boxes sitting right next to where that Purple was.
3. The bottom column 4 will immediately drop its Purple layer and reveal a Light Blue Box. The two Light Blues you just released will slide right in and clear it.
4. You now have access to the right-side column. Drop the Green box that was sitting above the Purple.
5. Tap the Gift Box marked with a 2. Let it open and clear its required colors.
6. You have finally exposed the Gold Key box. Tap it immediately. It will fly across the gap and shatter the Gold Lock on the left column.

Unlocking the Left Stack in Marble Sort Level 214

The left column is now broken open. It is time to clear it out to get the second key.

7. Drop the two Red boxes from the bottom of the left column. Let them sit on the Conveyor Belt. They are safe there for a moment.
8. Drop the White box from the left column.
9. Drop the Yellow box right behind it.
10. Tap the Purple Key box at the top of the left stack. Watch it fly over to the right side and shatter the Purple Lock chaining the two Gift Boxes (marked with 3s).
11. You now have access to the deep midgame. Tap the Connected Boxes (Orange & Pink) on the right side. You finally have room to process those Orange lower Boxes that were baiting you at the start.

Managing the Mystery Box Ending in Marble Sort Level 214

Once you clear those front-row Oranges, the bottom section of the board completely changes.

12. The lower area will start revealing multiple Mystery Boxes. Stop speed-tapping. Wait to see exactly what colors the Mystery Boxes demand before dropping anything else from the Top Tray.
13. Drop the Blue and Pink Connected Boxes from the right side to feed the newly opened bottom slots. The Conveyor Belt gets incredibly crowded here. Only drop what the bottom row explicitly asks for.
14. Crack open the two Gift Boxes (3) sitting in the top right. They will flood the board with a massive burst of new colored boxes.
15. If a Mystery Box reveals a Red, those two left-column Reds you dropped earlier will finally slot in and clear the belt.
16. Finish off the very top row by dropping the White & Light Blue Connected Boxes, followed by the final Green box. Match them carefully with the final Mystery Box reveals to close out the board.
