Marble Sort Level 549 Guide: The Cross-Locked Key Trap

You load into this level and instantly see a massive wall of grey fabric. Almost the entirely of the Top Tray is covered in Surprise Bags hiding the marble colors. You cannot plan a normal sorting route here. You have to dig blindly, but if you dig wrong, the Conveyor Belt fills up and you instantly fail.

The real nightmare in Marble Sort Level 549 is the cross-locked puzzle sitting in the middle of the board. Heavy grey chains wrap across the left and right sides. The left side has a Purple Lock and Key chain. The right side has a Gold Lock and Key chain. The trick? The keys are on opposite sides of the board.

You need the Purple key from the bottom right corner to open the left side. You need the Gold key from the bottom left corner to open the right side. You cannot reach either key right away. They are protected by numbered Panels.

Look at the perimeter. Three blue Panels restrict your movement. The top center Panel requires 3 Boxes to clear before it opens. The left and right Panels each require 2 Boxes to clear. These side Panels are blocking your access to the critical keys.

Now look at the lower Boxes. You have a four-wide grid on the Conveyor Belt. The immediate front row demands Red, Orange, Light Blue, and Orange. Behind those, you can see a wall of Pink, White, Purple, and Dark Blue Boxes waiting their turn.

The biggest trap in Marble Sort Level 549 is the White marble cluster sitting fully exposed at the bottom left of the center block. It looks like an easy grab. It is bait. There is no White Box in the front row. The White Box is buried behind a Red one. You have to manage your limited space perfectly. We need to clear the front row, peel back the Surprise Bags, and trigger the side Panels to reach those keys.

Opening the Front Line in Marble Sort Level 549

Your first taps dictate how the midgame opens up. Ignore the locked chains. Ignore the hidden corners. Focus on the only playable moves.

1. Tap the visible Orange marbles at the bottom center of the Top Tray. Send them to the two Orange bottom Boxes waiting on the Conveyor Belt.
2. Tap the Light Blue marbles sitting right next to the Orange ones.
3. This clears two bottom Boxes right out of the gate.
4. Watch the side Panels. Because you cleared two Boxes, the left and right Panels (which started at 2) will drop to 0 and lift up.
5. Leave the White marbles alone. Do not touch them. The Conveyor Belt must remain empty for the hidden colors we are about to pull.

Now the board starts fighting back. The side Panels are gone, meaning you can finally see the keys. The Gold key is on the far left, sitting on a Purple marble. The Purple key is on the far right.

4. Work the right side of the Top Tray to free the Purple key. As soon as you tap the marble holding it, the left-side Purple lock shatters.
5. This reveals a cluster of Dark Blue marbles on the left side. Do not pull them yet. Wait until a Dark Blue bottom Box actually slides to the front of the Conveyor Belt.
6. Clear the newly arrived Purple Boxes on the belt. This allows you to tap the left-side Purple marbles holding the Gold key.
7. The Gold key flies across the board and breaks the right-side lock, freeing a massive chunk of Pink marbles.

Clearing the Final Panels in Marble Sort Level 549

The heavy chains are gone. The corners are open. The only obstacle left is the top center Panel, which started at 3 and should be counting down as you clear the midgame boxes.

1. Dump the newly freed Pink marbles into the Pink bottom Boxes.
2. Route the Dark Blue marbles from the left side down to the belt.
3. As these Boxes clear out, the top center Panel will finally lift, revealing the last hidden Light Blue marbles.
4. Clear out the remaining Surprise Bags to find the Green marbles for the final Green Box.
5. Keep your clicks methodical. At this stage, the Conveyor Belt is mostly safe, but clicking blindly can still cause a late-game jam if you pull Green before Light Blue is finished. Match the colors strictly front-to-back to finish the board.
