Marble Sort Level 426 Guide: The Dual Lock and Key Trap

Marble Sort Level 426 is a masterclass in bait. You load in and immediately see a bright, colorful grid, but nearly everything is tied down or blocked. The dominant colors you need to worry about early on are Dark Blue, Brown, and Light Blue.

The Top Tray is heavily segmented. You have a distinct left wing, a right wing, and a framed center block. The real nightmare here is the double vertical Lock and Key setup fencing in that middle section. Until you trigger those locks, a huge chunk of your board is completely unplayable. Add in several sets of Connected Boxes scattered across the top corners, and you have a recipe for a jammed Conveyor Belt. This guide will show you exactly how to dismantle this board without choking your limited belt space.

The Locked-Down Grid Pattern in Marble Sort Level 426

Every move on this board revolves around cracking those two yellow vertical bars. In Marble Sort Level 426, the Top Tray forces you to play the outside edges first.

Look at the extreme left and right sides. The bottom corners of the Top Tray hold your starting moves. On the lower left, you have a solid Dark Brown and Dark Blue box. On the lower right, you have a Light Green and Dark Purple box. Above these sit layers of Light Blue, Pink, and Light Green marbles.

Right at the top of both wings, the game places Connected Boxes. The top left features a Purple and Green link. The top right features a Red and Orange link. Dropping these too early is instant death for your run because they dump two different colors onto the Conveyor Belt at the exact same time.

The center of the board is a heavily guarded 2x2 square containing Brown, Pink, Yellow, and Red marbles. This area is completely off-limits at the start. It is sandwiched tightly between the two Lock and Key barriers.

Now look at your bottom Boxes. This is where the trap snaps shut. The absolute front line demands alternating Dark Blue and Brown clears. If you look closely at the second and third rows of the bottom Boxes, you will see a massive wall of Light Blue waiting behind the initial targets.

This bottom arrangement dictates your entire opening. Light Blue looks incredibly tempting because it sits completely exposed on the left side of the Top Tray. It is pure bait. If you drop Light Blue onto the Conveyor Belt before clearing out the Dark Blue and Brown front line, you will run out of space and fail the level before the first Lock and Key even opens.

Marble Sort Level 426 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

You have to be surgical here. The left side is your primary target. Tearing down the left wing opens the first lock and gives your Conveyor Belt room to breathe.

Beating the Brown and Blue Bait in Marble Sort Level 426

Your first goal is to satisfy the demanding front row of bottom Boxes while ignoring the easy-to-reach colors up top.

  1. Target the bottom-left corner of the Top Tray. Release the Dark Blue and Dark Brown marbles immediately.
  2. Use these to feed the front line of your bottom Boxes. You need three of a kind to force a clear.
  3. Completely ignore the Light Blue marbles sitting just above the bottom-left corner. The bottom Boxes do not want Light Blue yet. Dropping them now will clog the Conveyor Belt.
  4. Hunt for the remaining Dark Blue and Brown matches hidden just behind the front layer. You must prioritize feeding the alternating Dark Blue and Brown bottom Boxes until that entire front row vanishes.
  5. Clearing this specific sequence will trigger the left-side Lock and Key.

Managing the Connected Boxes in Marble Sort Level 426

Once that left lock drops, the board identity changes entirely. The center frame breaks open. The left side of the Top Tray empties out, but the Conveyor Belt pressure spikes.

  1. Look at your new bottom Boxes. The Brown and Dark Blue layers are mostly gone. You will now see requests for Orange, Purple, Pink, and Red.
  2. The center 2x2 block is now exposed. You can safely release the Yellow and Purple Connected Boxes that were trapped in the middle, but only if you have an active Purple bottom Box ready to receive half of that drop.
  3. Manage the Conveyor Belt carefully. You will likely have leftover Yellow or Pink marbles taking up slots. Do not panic. Leave them sitting there and focus purely on matching the active bottom Boxes.
  4. Pull the Red and Orange Connected Boxes from the top right corner. The newly exposed bottom Boxes will instantly swallow the Orange marbles, keeping your belt from overflowing.

Unlocking the Final Right Side in Marble Sort Level 426

The midgame chaos ends when the left and center are entirely hollowed out. Now you just have to crack the right side of the board.

  1. Focus on the remaining Pink and Light Green marbles pinned against the right-side Lock and Key.
  2. Drop the Pink marbles to feed the deeper layers of the bottom Boxes.
  3. This triggers the final Lock and Key. The vertical yellow bar on the right will finally vanish.
  4. The remaining right-wing grid will drop. You now have unrestricted access to the final Dark Purple and Light Green clusters.
  5. Mop up the massive wall of Light Blue bottom Boxes that have been waiting since the very start of the level. Flush the remaining colors down the Conveyor Belt to finish the board.
