Marble Sort Level 97 Guide: The Double Lock and Key Fortress
Marble Sort Level 97 hits you with a massive, intimidating wall of unknowns. The entire middle of the board is a fortress of grey Hidden Boxes marked with question marks, completely blocking your path to the top. To make things worse, dead center in this wall sits a double layer of Connected Boxes held together by a purple and yellow Lock and Key system.
You cannot bypass this setup. You have to dismantle it piece by piece. The problem is that the keys to open those locks are trapped in the extreme top left and top right corners, buried underneath heavy Tunnels. If you mismanage your early drops, the Conveyor Belt will choke on bait colors before you ever reach those top corners.
The Mystery Minefield in Marble Sort Level 97
You need to understand exactly how this board is stacked before making a single move. The top tray layout is a deliberate trap.
Look at the front row of the Top Tray. You have Orange, Pink, Light Blue, Green, and Red sitting fully exposed. This looks like an easy opening. It is not.
Now look down at your four bottom Boxes. The active front-line targets are Dark Blue on the far left, Red in column two, Orange in column three, and White on the far right. Notice the brutal mismatch. You have Orange and Red available up top, but you do not have immediate access to Dark Blue or White.
Worse, the bottom section is heavily layered with Mystery Boxes.
- Column one hides a Mystery Box under the Light Blue target.
- Column two is a mess, placing a Mystery Box right under the initial Red, followed by two Purples and another mystery.
- Column three hides two consecutive Mystery Boxes directly under the first Orange.
- Column four alternates White, Red, White, ending with a final mystery.
If you blindly pull the Pink, Light Blue, and Green from the top tray just because they are loose, they will sit on the Conveyor Belt indefinitely. You cannot clear the bottom Pink or Light Blue until the Dark Blue and Orange targets are resolved. The belt will jam, and your run will fail fast.
Your entire goal is to surgically dig through the outer edges of the grey Hidden Boxes to find the Dark Blue and White marbles, clear the front lines, and slowly climb the side columns to reach the yellow and purple keys.
Marble Sort Level 97 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Do not rush the front row. The order in which you expose the hidden layers dictates whether you survive the midgame. Manage your belt space strictly.
Surviving the Front Row in Marble Sort Level 97
Your opening moves must be highly disciplined. You are playing to reveal the bottom Mystery Boxes as fast as possible so you know what the board actually demands.
- Tap the front-left Orange block in the Top Tray to feed the bottom Orange Box in column three.
- Tap the front-right Red block to clear the bottom Red Box in column two.
- Stop pulling from the front row. Leave the Pink, Light Blue, and Green exactly where they are. They are pure bait.
- With column two and column three now showing a Mystery Box, tap the grey Hidden Boxes directly behind where the Orange and Red blocks used to sit.
- You are hunting for Dark Blue and White marbles to feed the outer left and outer right bottom Boxes. Only drop a color if it matches the active bottom row or if you have enough empty Conveyor Belt slots to store it temporarily without causing a jam.
- Once a bottom Mystery Box reveals its color, prioritize finding its match from the lower rows of the grey Hidden Boxes.
Breaking the Lock and Key Trap in Marble Sort Level 97
After the first few bottom boxes clear, the board shifts. The side columns of the Top Tray will slowly open up. You must now push toward the top corners.
- Focus heavily on clearing the extreme left and right vertical edges of the Top Tray.
- Keep clearing the newly revealed bottom Boxes. Notice how column two opens up those double Purple targets. You will find plenty of Purple marbles in the middle-left and middle-right sections of the board. Use them immediately.
- Push up the left edge until you expose the yellow key. Drop it. This shatters the yellow lock holding the bottom set of Connected Boxes in the center.
- Push up the right edge until you expose the purple key. Drop it. This breaks the purple lock holding the top set of Connected Boxes.
- Do not tap the top Tunnels yet. Even though the '4' counters make them look tempting, wait until the center of the board is completely cracked open.
Emptying the Tunnels in Marble Sort Level 97
The late game completely relies on belt management. Once the center locks break, a massive dump of new colors will become available.
- Clear the now-unlocked Connected Boxes in the dead center. This flushes a huge chunk of matching colors into the bottom trays and usually reveals the final hidden bottom Boxes.
- Look at the three Tunnels at the top of the board. They each hold 4 drops.
- Only trigger a tunnel if the active bottom Box needs a color that is nowhere else on the board. The tunnels feed out in a set order. If you trigger them early, you risk dropping colors you cannot use.
- Clean up any remaining Pink, Light Blue, or Green blocks that you left behind at the very start of the level. Their bottom Boxes should finally be active and waiting.
- Cycle the final colors from the center Tunnels into the remaining bottom targets to close out the level.
