Marble Sort Level 261 Guide: The Triple Lock Center Trap and Red Marble Bait

Marble Sort Level 261 is a masterclass in board manipulation and impulse control. If you fail this stage, it is almost certainly because you clicked too fast on the right side of the board. The dominant colors here are Blue, Green, Black, and a very stubborn cluster of Pink and Purple held hostage at the top.

Right out of the gate, you face a brutally tight five-column setup in the Top Tray. The center is completely paralyzed by a massive Lock and Key mechanism. Flanking the sides are two dark Tunnels hiding a ton of unknown marbles. To survive, you have to ignore the obvious moves, manage a horribly mismatched bottom queue, and defuse the center locks before your belt clogs up completely.

The Heavy Center Block pattern in Marble Sort Level 261

When you load into this board, you are immediately stared down by three golden keyhole mechanisms dominating the middle three columns of the Top Tray. This Lock and Key trap completely blocks access to the high-value Pink, Purple, and Yellow boxes sitting at the very top. You cannot touch them until you clear the garbage underneath them to break the locks.

The outer edges are just as threatening. The far-left and far-right columns feature dark blue Tunnels, each marked with a "4". That means eight hidden boxes are waiting to flood your board later in the match. You have no idea what colors they hold, which means you need maximum space on your Conveyor Belt when they finally open.

Now, look at the front line of your Top Tray. From left to right, you have immediate access to a Green, Black, Blue, Orange, and Red Box.

Next, look down at the bottom Boxes waiting to be filled. The front row demands Purple, Black, Green, and Blue.

Do you see the trap? You have a Purple requirement on the bottom left, but absolutely no Purple available in the unrestricted lower area of the Top Tray. The only Purple is locked behind the golden center mechanism. Meanwhile, you have Orange and Red practically begging to be clicked on the right side of the Top Tray, but zero Orange or Red bottom Boxes in the front row.

Red and Orange are complete bait. If you release them now, they will sit on your Conveyor Belt forever, choking your playable space and causing a guaranteed game over. The entire flow of Marble Sort Level 261 revolves around dodging those bait colors while surgically picking apart the center to reach the Purple you desperately need.

Marble Sort Level 261 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Success here requires strict discipline. Do not touch a color unless you know exactly which bottom Box is going to swallow it.

Safe Opening Moves in Marble Sort Level 261

The start of this level is all about taking what the board gives you and ignoring the rest. You need to clear out the bottom queue to force a board shift.

  1. Tap the Black Box located mid-left in the Top Tray. It will drop and immediately clear the Black bottom Box in the front row.
  2. Tap the Green Box on the far left. This clears the waiting Green bottom Box.
  3. Tap the Blue Box sitting right in the center. This handles the Blue bottom Box.
  4. Stop clicking. Leave your hands off the screen. The Red and Orange boxes on the right side of the Top Tray are toxic right now. Releasing them will instantly jam your Conveyor Belt.
  5. Watch the bottom rows shift forward. You are waiting for the lower queue to slide up and reveal new color demands that match the outer edges of the Top Tray.

Unlocking the Center and Tunnels in Marble Sort Level 261

Once the initial Black, Green, and Blue clears are out of the way, the middle of the board starts to loosen up. You need to break that golden cage.

  1. Focus on the exposed lower center boxes. Match them carefully with the new bottom Boxes that just slid into the front row.
  2. As you clear the immediate center, the golden Lock and Key chains will finally snap. This is the turning point of the match.
  3. The previously trapped Pink, Purple, and Yellow boxes at the top of the board will now drop down into playable positions.
  4. Immediately grab that Purple Box you just freed. Feed it straight into the far-left bottom Box that has been stalling your board since the level started.
  5. With the center cleared out, shift your attention to the outer columns. Carefully clear the boxes sitting directly beneath the Tunnels (the Pink and Blue on the left, the Red and Blue on the right) only when their matching bottom Boxes are active.

Surviving the Conveyor Crush in Marble Sort Level 261

This is where the level usually kills players. As you open the Tunnels, your board state changes drastically. The lower queue will suddenly demand a massive wave of Blue and Yellow.

  1. Keep a tight grip on your Conveyor Belt capacity. If you made a mistake earlier and dropped Red or Orange, your belt is likely crammed with useless marbles while your bottom row demands Blue and Yellow.
  2. Activate the Tunnels (initially marked 4) by pulling their front boxes. Only pull from a Tunnel if you have at least three empty slots on your belt to catch the random spillover.
  3. Now is finally the time for those bait colors. The hidden back rows of the bottom Boxes will slowly reveal Pink, Orange, and Red requirements.
  4. Release the Orange and Red boxes from the right side of the Top Tray only when their matching bottom Boxes are physically in the front row.
  5. Empty the remaining random colors generated by the Tunnels into the final wave of Blue, Yellow, and Pink bottom Boxes to clear the board. Watch the belt, match the late-arriving Yellows, and you are done.
