Marble Sort Level 9 Guide: The Mystery Box Pyramid Trap

Marble Sort Level 9 hits you with a massive information deficit right out of the gate. You load in and see a giant pyramid of blocks in the Top Tray, but almost all of them are covered up. This level is defined by the heavy use of the Mystery Box mechanic.

At the bottom edge of that pyramid, only three colored blocks are visible: Red, Light Pink, and Mint Green. The rest of the puzzle is completely hidden behind question marks. Below the Conveyor Belt, the bottom Boxes are stacked four columns wide. The dominant colors you need to worry about early are Light Pink and Purple, which later give way to a messy mix of Yellow, Black, and Red. The obstacle controlling this entire run is that massive wall of hidden blocks. You cannot plan your endgame until you crack the front line and force the board to reveal its true colors.

The Hidden Pyramid Pattern in Marble Sort Level 9

Every Marble Sort 9 run lives or dies by how you handle the opening layout. The board forces you into a very specific sequence.

Look at the Top Tray. You have a Red block on the left, a Light Pink block in the middle, and a Mint Green block on the right. Above them sits a sprawling mountain of Mystery Box blocks. You cannot see what colors are coming next until the blocks directly below them are cleared out.

Now look down at the bottom Boxes. This is where the trap is set.

  • Column 1 starts with a Light Pink Box, followed by Dark Blue, Mint Green, and Purple.
  • Column 2 starts with a Purple Box, followed by Dark Blue, Light Pink, and Yellow.
  • Column 3 starts with a Light Pink Box, followed by Mint Green, and more Light Pink.
  • Column 4 starts with a Light Pink Box, followed by Dark Blue, and more Light Pink.

Notice the problem? The Top Tray gives you Red, Light Pink, and Mint Green. But the front row of the bottom Boxes is demanding Light Pink and Purple.

Red is pure bait. Mint Green is absolute bait. If you tap the Red or Mint Green blocks at the start, they will drop onto the Conveyor Belt and just sit there. You have no Red or Mint Green bottom Boxes available in the front row to receive them. Your Conveyor Belt will crowd instantly. The entire first phase revolves around that single Light Pink block in the middle of the tray. That is the only safe move. Dropping it clears the way, flips the first set of hidden blocks above it, and completely changes the board state.

Marble Sort Level 9 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

You need a strict release order to survive the hidden layers. Follow these steps to keep the belt clean and force the board to open up safely.

The Light Pink Opener in Marble Sort Level 9

Your first taps dictate the entire match. Do not touch the outer edges.

  1. Tap the center Light Pink block in the Top Tray. This sends 9 Light Pink marbles down to the Conveyor Belt.
  2. Watch the bottom Boxes clear. Because the front row has three Light Pink bottom Boxes waiting, those 9 marbles will distribute perfectly. They will wipe out the Light Pink Box in column 1, column 3, and column 4 all at once.
  3. Leave the Red and Mint Green blocks completely alone. Touching them right now is a guaranteed jam.
  4. Look at the Top Tray. Clearing that Light Pink block just revealed the Mystery Box blocks directly above it. You should now see new colors emerging, specifically Purple and Yellow.

Cracking the Mystery Box Wall in Marble Sort Level 9

The first clear shifts the entire dynamic of the board. The front row of the bottom area is now exposing different requirements, and the Top Tray is showing its midgame colors.

  1. Check the bottom Boxes. Column 2 has a Purple Box sitting right at the front. Column 1 just exposed a Dark Blue Box.
  2. Tap the newly revealed Purple block in the Top Tray. This will feed the Purple bottom Box in the second column and get it out of the way.
  3. Clearing that Purple block reveals even more of the pyramid. You will start seeing a heavy concentration of Yellow, Black, and Red blocks pushing down from the top.
  4. Assess your Conveyor Belt pressure. You still have that starting Red block on the left and the Mint Green block on the right. Do not release them until their exact matching Boxes slide to the absolute front of the bottom columns.
  5. Match the newly exposed Yellow blocks in the Top Tray with the Yellow bottom Boxes that are starting to surface in columns 2, 3, and 4.

Managing the Late-Game Color Surge in Marble Sort Level 9

Once the center of the pyramid is gutted, the board becomes a massive matching scramble.

  1. Focus on the heavy Red and Black chains. As the lower layers of the bottom Boxes slide up, columns 2 and 4 will demand Red and Black clears.
  2. Release the starting Red block from the bottom left of the Top Tray only when the Red bottom Boxes finally reach the active front row.
  3. Work top-down through the remaining exposed blocks. Always clear the highest available matching block in the tray to continuously flip any lingering Mystery Box tiles at the peak of the pyramid.
  4. Keep a strict one-to-one drop ratio. If you see a Black Box at the front, drop exactly one Black block. Overcommitting to the Conveyor Belt when the bottom columns are mixed with Dark Blue and Yellow will cause a late-game wipe. Clear the front, verify the next color, and drop accordingly.
