The first phase is all about starving the board of the colors it wants you to click. Do not touch the right side of the front row yet.

Clear the double Yellows. Look at your bottom Boxes. The first two columns need Yellow. Go to the Top Tray. Tap the single Yellow in the front row. Then, tap the two adjacent Yellows sitting in the second row. This instantly clears the first two bottom Boxes.
