Marble Sort Level 404 Guide: The Gift Box and Frost Trap

Marble Sort Level 404 is a brutal lesson in patience and visual discipline. You open this board and immediately see a messy, trapped puzzle. The dominant colors you need to juggle are Pink, White, Yellow, Green, and Orange, but they are tangled in a very specific, dangerous layout.

Look at the Top Tray. The front line seems completely generous. You have a wide open row of colored marbles ready to drop. Do not trust it. Right behind that front row sits a staggered wall of Mystery Boxes and Iced Boxes. Dead center, sitting near the top of the grid, is a blue and red Gift Box marked with a 4. On the far left and far right edges, you will see blue Tunnels marked with 3s.

Now look at your bottom Boxes. The initial receiving line demands Dark Green, White, Pink, and Yellow. This creates a massive problem right out of the gate. The puzzle forces you to navigate around colors you can easily reach but cannot safely play. Your whole run lives or dies by how you handle the frosty center and that top Gift Box.

The Center Bait Pattern in Marble Sort Level 404

You have to read this specific board back-to-front before you tap a single marble.

The front row of the Top Tray gives you immediate access to Pink, White, Orange, Yellow, and another Pink. Notice the trap? Your front row of bottom Boxes wants Dark Green, White, Pink, and Yellow. It does not want Orange. That bright Orange block sitting in the exact center of the front row is pure bait. Drop it now, and it will just sit on your Conveyor Belt, eating up precious space while you struggle to find the Dark Green marbles you actually need.

The Dark Green marbles are not free. They are locked further up the board, hidden or trapped behind the Iced Boxes. Notice the frosty layer over the Light Blue, Pink, and Dark Green marbles in the middle rows. Those are Iced Boxes. They will not budge until you drop the adjacent blocks to unfreeze them.

Because of this, the center of the Top Tray is highly restricted. You cannot dig straight up the middle. You are forced to work the edges and carefully tap the Mystery Boxes to reveal the colors you need.

The lower Boxes also dictate a very strict play order. Behind the initial front row, you have Light Green, Pink, Light Green, and Dark Green waiting on deck. Further back in the queue, there are heavy stacks of Yellow and Orange. This means Orange will not be playable until very late in the run. If you fill your Conveyor Belt with bait colors early, the Tunnels on the left and right will eventually lock you out when they spit out unplayable marbles.

You must clear the safe front-row colors first to force the board to open. Control your Conveyor Belt space. Only pull colors when their matching bottom Box is active or one clear away.

Beating the Front Row Bait in Marble Sort Level 404

Your first moves must bypass the obvious traps and focus purely on the active bottom Boxes.

Tap the free White block from the front of the Top Tray. It immediately clears the White bottom Box.
Tap the free Yellow block. It drops and clears the Yellow bottom Box.
Tap the free Pink blocks on the outer edges of the front row. They will fill and clear the Pink bottom Box.
Leave the center Orange block completely alone. Do not touch it. It is useless right now and will clog your Conveyor Belt.
Watch the lower Boxes shift forward. You should now see Light Green and more Pink pulling into the active receiving row.

Thawing the Iced Boxes and Opening the Midgame in Marble Sort Level 404

With the front row out of the way, your goal is to unfreeze the middle and reach that top reward.

Look at the exposed Mystery Boxes right behind where the White and Yellow blocks used to be. Tap them one at a time. You need to reveal their colors slowly. If a Mystery Box reveals a Light Green or Dark Green, drop it into the matching active bottom Box.
By dropping these surrounding blocks, you will trigger the Iced Boxes. The frost will crack and disappear off the Light Blue and Green marbles in the second and third rows.
Start matching the newly freed Light Blue and Green marbles. You must clear the blocks directly under the central Gift Box.
Once you drop a box directly adjacent to the Gift Box, it will activate. It will immediately pop open and reveal 4 new playable boxes on the board.
Stop and assess your Conveyor Belt. The Gift Box often dumps new colors like Brown or extra Light Blue into the mix. Match these immediately into the newly shifted bottom Boxes to keep your belt clean.

Surviving the Tunnels and Final Clear in Marble Sort Level 404

The late game shifts the pressure from the center out to the side walls.

Now that the middle is carved out, shift your attention to the left and right edges. The Tunnels marked with 3s are now accessible.
Drop the blocks in front of the Tunnels to trigger them. They will release hidden strings of marbles.
You will start seeing a heavy influx of Yellow, Orange, and Brown marbles. Look at your lower Boxes—the back rows are packed with Orange and Yellow receivers.
Finally, drop that initial center Orange block you left behind at the start of the level. It will instantly find a home in the back-row Orange bottom Boxes.
Cycle the remaining colors from the Tunnels directly into the final bottom Boxes to complete the level. Keep your taps slow and deliberate at the very end to avoid a last-second jam.
