Marble Sort Level 400 Guide: The Double Lock and Key Trap

Marble Sort Level 400 is a brutal test of order of operations. You are staring at a heavily segmented board dominated by bright colors—light blue, orange, magenta, and yellow—but the colors are just a distraction. The real nightmare here is the horizontal golden bars completely locking down the middle rows.

The Top Tray is stacked in four primary columns, flanked by grey Surprise Bags on the edges and two Gift Box obstacles sitting right at the top corners, menacingly displaying the number 3. Down below, the lower Boxes start with orange, light blue, yellow, and brown. Your Conveyor Belt is going to fill up instantly if you make the wrong first pull. You cannot just match what looks easy. You have to thread the needle to find the keys.

The Double Golden Bar Pattern in Marble Sort Level 400

Let’s break down exactly what you are looking at because this board is a trap from the first tap.

The Top Tray has four accessible boxes right on the bottom row: mint green on the left, light blue in the left-center, magenta in the right-center, and orange on the right. It looks like a generous spread. It is not.

Look closely at the bottom Boxes waiting for marbles. The front row only accepts orange, light blue, yellow, and brown. That means the mint green and magenta boxes on the bottom of the Top Tray are absolute bait. If you tap them now, they will drop onto the Conveyor Belt and sit there, burning precious space while you struggle to dig out the colors you actually need.

The defining feature of Marble Sort 400 is the Lock and Key setup. Two massive golden bars stretch horizontally across the board. The left bar covers the first two columns. The right bar covers the last two columns. Notice the small silver keys stamped onto specific colored boxes? You must drop those specific boxes to break the golden bars.

The right side of your Conveyor Belt will get incredibly crowded if you ignore the yellow and brown bottom Boxes. Your entire opening strategy hinges on column two. That light blue box is your lifeline. If you do not clear the front light blue box to expose the key behind it, the golden bars stay locked, the board stays frozen, and you fail the level.

Marble Sort Level 400 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Follow this exact release order. Space on the Conveyor Belt is tight, so do not deviate or pull colors just because they are loose.

Unlocking the First Golden Bar in Marble Sort Level 400

Your opening moves are entirely about getting that first silver key. Leave the mint green alone.

  1. Tap the orange box on the bottom right of the Top Tray. It will drop straight into the orange bottom Box waiting in column one.
  2. Tap the light blue box sitting in column two. It will drop into the light blue bottom Box in column two.
  3. Look at what you just exposed in column two. It is a second light blue box, and it has a silver key right on it. Tap it immediately.
  4. That second light blue box drops, completing the light blue bottom Box and clearing it from the board. Instantly, the key triggers and unlocks the first golden bar.
  5. Now look at column three. The magenta box is blocking a yellow box. Tap the magenta box to send it to the Conveyor Belt. It will take up one slot, but it is a necessary sacrifice.
  6. With the magenta box out of the way, tap the yellow box. It drops into the yellow bottom Box in column three.

Managing the Surprise Bags in Marble Sort Level 400

Clearing that first light blue bottom Box changed the lower board. A light green box is now active in column two.

  1. Look at the Surprise Bags sitting on the left and right edges. Do not touch them unless your Conveyor Belt has at least three empty slots. The colors inside are completely random and will jam you if you lack space.
  2. Focus on the next keys. You have a light blue box with a key in column two, right above where the lock used to be. You also have a light green box with a key higher up in column four.
  3. Since the light green bottom Box is now active, try to dig toward that light green key.
  4. Your yellow bottom Box is waiting for more yellow. If a Surprise Bag reveals yellow, feed it down immediately to clear the front line.
  5. The magenta box you parked on the Conveyor Belt earlier is waiting for the pink/magenta bottom Box to become available. Once the orange bottom Box in column one clears, a pink one pops up. That parked magenta box will automatically fly in.

Cracking the Top Gift Boxes in Marble Sort Level 400

The late game shifts focus to the top corners. The Gift Box obstacles marked with a 3 require you to drop three nearby boxes to pop them open.

  1. Leave the top corners for last. You will naturally trigger them as you clear the top rows.
  2. Notice the grey padlocks on the very bottom yellow and light blue lower Boxes. You cannot interact with them until the boxes above them are totally cleared.
  3. Drop the dark green and red boxes with the final silver keys to break the remaining locks holding the upper center.
  4. Once the Gift Box pops, it will dump new colors. Pause and check your lower Boxes before tapping anything.
  5. Clear the brown lower Box on the right side to open up the final routing. Match whatever falls out of the Gift Box to wrap up the board. Keep the Conveyor Belt clean and the final clears will chain together perfectly.
