Marble Sort Level 501 Guide: The Layered Stack Trap
Marble Sort Level 501 throws a very specific and annoying trap at you right from the start. You are looking at a heavily cluttered board dominated by Light Pink, Green, Yellow, and Red blocks up front, with towering layered stacks of Purple, Blue, and Green sitting ominously in the center and sides.
The main problem here is order of operations. The Top Tray is designed to tempt you into tapping blocks from left to right. Do not do this. The active front row of bottom Boxes only demands Green, Light Pink, Yellow, and Light Pink. Notice what color is missing from that list? Red. Yet, there is a prominent Red block sitting right on the front-left edge of the Top Tray.
This level is entirely about discipline. If you dump colors onto the Conveyor Belt before their corresponding Box is active, those layered stacks in the midgame will absolutely jam your board.
The Cluttered Grid Pattern in Marble Sort Level 501
To beat Marble Sort 501, you have to understand exactly how this specific board is built. The Top Tray is arranged in a rigid grid, but the height of the pieces varies wildly.
Look at the very front row of the Top Tray. You have five distinct plain blocks blocking access to everything else. From left to right, you are looking at Red, Light Pink, Yellow, Green, and another Light Pink.
Directly behind this front wall sits the real nightmare. You have three massive layered stacks. The center stack has a yellow base completely buried under Green, Blue, and Purple layers. The left and right side stacks are similarly choked with Purple and Blue layers. Scattered between these stacks are plain blocks of Purple, Green, Light Blue, and Red.
Now look down at your bottom Boxes. The placement here dictates your entire opening strategy. You have four columns. The currently active front row features a Green Box on the far left, a Light Pink Box, a Yellow Box, and another Light Pink Box on the far right.
This is your bait. The game is handing you almost exactly what you need in the front row of the Top Tray, perfectly aligning with the bottom Boxes. But that front-left Red block is an active hazard. There is no Red Box in the starting lineup. If you tap that Red block just to get it out of the way, it will sit dead on your Conveyor Belt. Once you hit the midgame and need to peel apart those layered stacks, you will desperately need that empty slot.
Marble Sort Level 501 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
This solution requires strict Conveyor Belt management. You have to clear the exact front-row blocks that match the active Boxes and leave the dead colors untouched until the board shifts.
Beating the Opening Bait in Marble Sort Level 501
Your first taps dictate whether you win or lose. The goal is to clear the entire front row of bottom Boxes without clogging your belt.
- Tap the Light Pink block on the front-right of the Top Tray. Send it straight into the far-right Light Pink Box.
- Tap the Light Pink block sitting in the second slot from the left in the Top Tray. This will fill the second Light Pink Box. Both Light Pink Boxes will now clear out of your way.
- Tap the Yellow block in the center of the front row. Send it to the Yellow Box.
- Tap the Green block in the front row. Send it down to the Green Box on the far left.
- Stop right now. Look at the Red block on the far left of the Top Tray. Leave it exactly where it is. Your Conveyor Belt should be completely empty right now.
Surviving the Midgame Shift in Marble Sort Level 501
Clearing that first wave completely changes the board. The bottom Boxes will slide forward, revealing a totally new set of demands. You will now see a Light Blue Box, a Yellow Box, another Light Blue Box, and finally, a Red Box on the far right.
This is where the level opens up, and this is exactly why you saved that Red block.
- Now you can safely tap that front-left Red block. Send it straight down into the newly revealed Red Box on the far right.
- Turn your attention to the towering layered stacks in the Top Tray. You need Light Blue to fill the two new active Boxes. Start peeling the Light Blue layers off the side and center stacks.
- As you strip the Blue layers, you will expose the Purple layers underneath. You might also uncover the plain Light Blue blocks sitting further back in the grid. Send those Light Blue blocks to the bottom Boxes immediately to clear them.
- By now, you will likely expose a Yellow face in the center stack. Drop that into the active Yellow Box in the second column.
Closing Out the Final Moves in Marble Sort Level 501
With the front blocks gone and the layered stacks stripped down to their bases, the back half of the Top Tray is finally vulnerable. You will now have clear access to the plain Purple, Green, and Red blocks sitting in the back rows.
- The next wave of bottom Boxes will reveal Red, Light Blue, and Green targets.
- Tap the newly exposed plain Red blocks in the back right of the Top Tray. Route them into the fresh Red Boxes.
- Target the Purple layers still sitting on top of the side stacks. Wait for a Purple Box to slide forward, then rapidly clear all the Purple layers at once.
- Mop up the remaining plain Green and Light Blue blocks from the back row. Keep a close eye on your Conveyor Belt. Only pull a back-row color if its matching Box is sitting in the active front slot.
