Marble Sort Level 617 Guide: The Elevator and Twin Orange Bait Trap
Marble Sort Level 617 is a complete trap right out of the gate. You look at the front lines and see plenty of playable colors. You see easy matches. Do not fall for it. This board is designed to clog your Conveyor Belt in exactly three wrong taps.
The dominant colors you have to juggle early are Orange, Green, Light Blue, and Purple. Your Top Tray is shaped a bit like a bulky cross, featuring a five-box bottom row, a massive central obstacle, and tied-up wings. The lower section of the board demands Orange and Green immediately, completely dictating your opening moves. The real nightmare controlling the entire flow of this level is the central four-tile Elevator and a deeply annoying Tunnel locked on the right side. You have to break the front line surgically, or you will fail before the midgame even starts.
The Brutal Board Pattern in Marble Sort Level 617
Load up Marble Sort 617 and look closely at your Top Tray. The absolute front row consists of five Boxes: Light Blue, Orange, White, Orange, and Purple.
Directly behind the center of this front line sits a 2x2 grid bounded by a dashed blue line. That is your Elevator. It holds four Mystery Box tiles right now. You cannot access the back half of the board until you clear the Boxes sitting on that Elevator so new ones can show up.
Flanking the Elevator are scattered Mystery Box tiles and several sets of Connected Boxes. Notice the Red tied to Green on the top left. Look at the Red tied to Yellow at the very top. See the Orange tied to White on the right side. Pulling one pulls its partner. If you do not have space for both colors, they will sit on the Conveyor Belt and ruin your run. Tucked away on the far right edge is a blue Tunnel marked with a "3". It is holding three full Boxes hostage.
Now look down at your receiving lower Boxes. The top row demands Orange, Green, Orange, Green. The row immediately beneath that needs Purple, Light Blue, Orange, and White. Below that? A solid wall of grey Mystery Box tiles.
This layout creates a devastating bait setup. That Light Blue Box sitting on the bottom left of the Top Tray looks completely safe to drop. So does the White one in the middle. They are not. If you drop them immediately, they will eat up your Conveyor Belt space because their matching lower Boxes are trapped underneath the top-row Green receivers. Your Conveyor Belt will crowd instantly on the left side, starving you of the room needed to untangle the Elevator later.
Marble Sort Level 617 Step-by-Step Walkthrough
You need to clear the lower Orange Boxes immediately. That first clear shifts the entire lower board and dictates what becomes playable. Precision is everything here. Keep your eyes on the lower Boxes and never send a color down unless you know exactly which receiver is opening up next.
Unlocking the Front Line in Marble Sort Level 617
Your opening moves require extreme discipline. Ignore the outer edges. Focus entirely on that front row of five.
- Tap the two front-line Orange Boxes in the Top Tray. Send them straight down. They will instantly fill the two Orange receivers on the top row of your lower Boxes.
- Watch the lower Boxes shift. Clearing those two Oranges exposes a Purple receiver on the left and an Orange receiver on the right.
- Now grab that front-line Purple Box from the bottom right of the Top Tray and send it down into the newly opened Purple receiver.
- Leave the Light Blue and White Boxes alone for now. They are still bait until you can clear the Green receivers blocking their path at the bottom.
- Dig into the exposed middle column. You need to start picking off the colors directly blocking the central Elevator.
- Hunt for your first Green Box to satisfy the remaining top-row receivers. You will find Green sitting just behind the front lines, slightly to the left and right. Drop them to clear that stubborn first layer of lower Boxes.
Beating the Elevator and Tied Boxes in Marble Sort Level 617
Once that top layer of Orange and Green receivers clears out, the board radically changes. You are now staring down the Elevator, the Connected Boxes, and a lower section full of Mystery Box tiles.
- Target the four tiles sitting on the Elevator. Drop them as soon as their matching lower receivers appear. Clearing these four is mandatory. Once the Elevator activates, it drops a completely new set of playable colors into the center of the board.
- Watch out for the Connected Boxes. You will see a Red and Green tied together on the upper left. Only tap this pair when you have an open Red or Green receiver ready at the bottom, plus at least one empty buffer slot on the Conveyor Belt.
- Do not ignore the right side. The moment an empty lower receiver matches the Box sitting in front of the Tunnel, tap it. That Tunnel holds three layers. You must constantly bleed it out whenever a match appears, or it will bottleneck your endgame.
- As the lower Boxes clear, the Mystery Box tiles will reveal their colors. Adapt your drops to these reveals. If a lower Mystery Box flips to Light Blue, finally drop that Light Blue Box you left sitting on the bottom left of the Top Tray.
- Keep your Conveyor Belt clean. You will start seeing Red, Pink, and Dark Blue marbles appear in the midgame. Do not let these stack up. If you drop a Red Box tied to a Yellow Box, ensure you can clear at least one of them immediately.
Surviving the Endgame in Marble Sort Level 617
The final stretch is entirely about managing the junk left over from the Connected Boxes and the bottom of the Tunnel.
- By now, the Elevator should be completely empty and the lower section will be cycling through Pink, Yellow, and Dark Blue receivers.
- Look at the top center. Drop that nasty Red/Yellow tied pair only when the Yellow receiver opens up at the bottom.
- Flush out the remaining pieces from the Tunnel.
- If your Conveyor Belt gets tight, look for a quick three-marble clear to save your run. Prioritize clearing lower Boxes that are physically covering other tiles. Finish sorting the leftover Red and Dark Blue colors to complete the board.
