Marble Sort Level 287 Guide: The Multiplier Gate and Mystery Box Trap

You just loaded into Marble Sort Level 287. The board looks incredibly crowded right from the jump. Green, Purple, Orange, and Red marbles dominate the center grid.

This board is completely built around a massive choke point. You have a tight central cluster of colored marbles surrounded by two long vertical columns of grey Mystery Boxes on the far left and right. Sitting directly in the middle of the board are two highly dangerous x2 Multiplier Gates. Up at the very top corners, you will spot two Panels stamped with the number 3.

The trap here is all about volume control. You have a limited Conveyor Belt. If you drop the wrong color through those Multiplier Gates, the doubled marbles will instantly overflow your belt and end your run.

Look down at your bottom receiver Boxes. The very front row is asking for Orange and Purple. That dictates your opening moves. Behind that front row is a massive, intimidating wall of Green Boxes. Now look up at the Top Tray. The absolute lowest edge features four large, dimpled marble blocks. Three of them are Green. Only one is Purple. Sitting right above these are single blocks of White, Red, Orange, and Green.

This setup is pure bait. The game puts three massive Green clusters right at the front of the Top Tray. Your brain wants to tap them because they are closest to the bottom. Do not do it. You do not have an open Green Box waiting for them. If you tap those front Greens, they will flood the Conveyor Belt and block you from reaching the Orange and Purple marbles you actually need to survive the opening.

Then you have the mid-board threat. The two green x2 Multiplier Gates sit right beneath the Yellow and Red blocks in the center grid. Any marble dropped from above those gates will double. This is a powerful tool when you have empty Boxes waiting. It is a death sentence if you drop a color blindly.

Finally, the outer edges are locked down by columns of Mystery Boxes marked with question marks. You have no idea what colors are hiding inside them. Tapping these early when your Conveyor Belt is already stressed is a massive gamble. The top left and top right Panels are also frozen, waiting for you to clear exactly three bottom Boxes before they reveal the marbles hidden underneath.

You need a strict order of operations here. Control the center first. Ignore the sides. Protect the belt.

Surviving the Opening Moves in Marble Sort Level 287

Your opening sequence is all about clearing that first row of bottom Boxes without accidentally triggering the Green trap.

1. Tap the front Purple cluster. Look at the very bottom edge of the Top Tray. Tap the single Purple dimpled block. This immediately feeds the front Purple receiver Boxes at the bottom.
2. Hunt for Orange. The outer front Boxes need Orange. Look just above the front row in the Top Tray. You will see an Orange block sitting cleanly in the mix. Tap it carefully to clear the outer Orange Boxes.
3. Ignore the front Greens. You will see three large Green blocks at the bottom of the tray. Leave them completely alone. Tapping them now will jam your Conveyor Belt with nowhere for the marbles to go.
4. Hold off on the sides. Do not touch a single Mystery Box on the left or right columns yet. You need all your belt space for the center puzzle.

Once you clear that front row of Purple and Orange Boxes, the whole board shifts. The massive wall of Green Boxes in the lower section is finally exposed and hungry for marbles.

5. Dump the Green. Now is the time. Tap those large front Green blocks in the Top Tray. They will safely flow into the newly opened Green Boxes.
6. Weaponize the Multiplier Gate. Look at the center grid directly above the x2 Multiplier Gates. You have Yellow, Red, Light Blue, and more Green waiting. Since you have plenty of empty Green Boxes ready, dropping Green through the x2 gate is now highly beneficial. It clears the board faster.
7. Match before you drop. Never drop a color through the Multiplier Gate unless you visibly see the matching Box open at the bottom. Doubling a color you don't need is an instant game over.
8. Activate the Panels. As you clear your third receiver Box, the Panels at the top left and top right will automatically unlock. Note what colors drop from them and prioritize matching them to keep the top of the board moving.

11. Pace the finish. Do not rapid-fire the question marks. The top tray will slowly drop the remaining Light Blue, Yellow, and Purple marbles. Let one cluster sort fully into its Box before tapping the next piece of the puzzle. Keep the belt clean, and the level will fold easily.
