Marble Sort Level 288 Guide: The Massive Connected Boxes Trap

This board is an absolute mess right out of the gate. You are staring down a huge board divided entirely by a vertical pillar of gray squares. The dominant colors pushing your patience here are red, light pink, light blue, and black.

The Top Tray is built to punish greedy taps. You have a central spine made entirely of the Mystery Box obstacle dropping straight down the middle. Flanking that spine are two massive blocks of Connected Boxes. They take up a huge amount of space, and triggering them at the wrong time will instantly end your run. Down below, your bottom target Boxes demand black, red, and light pink immediately. If you grab anything else, your board locks up.

The Twin 2x2 Layout in Marble Sort Level 288

Let's break down exactly what you are looking at. The Top Tray in this level is highly symmetrical but extremely dangerous. A solid column of seven Mystery Box tiles cuts the board in half. You cannot see what colors are hiding inside that center spine until you start dropping them.

Look at the left side of the Top Tray. You have a giant 2x2 block of Connected Boxes wrapped in a blue striped border. This left block holds a black, two reds, and a light pink marble set. Look at the right side. You have another 2x2 block of Connected Boxes holding two light pinks and two light blues. Because they are tied together, tapping any of these drops all four onto your Conveyor Belt at the exact same time.

Below these massive blocks are your loose marbles. You have orange, light blue, and light pink sitting exposed. The absolute bottom row of the Top Tray features a red, a light pink, a black, and another red.

Now check your bottom target Boxes. The very front row features two black Boxes on the far left. Sitting next to them is a red, and on the far right is a light pink. Behind those front lines, you can see light blue, more red, and some green waiting to slide forward.

The biggest bait on this board is the loose orange and purple marbles sitting on the outer edges of the Top Tray. They look easy to grab. Do not touch them. No bottom Box needs orange or purple right now. If you pull them down, they will burn vital space on your Conveyor Belt while you try to manage the massive connected blocks.

Marble Sort Level 288 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

You have to be surgical here. You cannot afford to dump four marbles at once until you know exactly where they are going.

Breaking the Front Row in Marble Sort Level 288

Your first taps must clear out the immediate frontline blockers. We need to feed the black, red, and light pink lower Boxes using only the loose marbles at the very bottom of the Top Tray.

  1. Tap the loose black marble sitting near the bottom center-left. This feeds the first black target Box.
  2. Tap the loose red marbles sitting on the bottom left and bottom right corners of the Top Tray. Send them into the front red target Box.
  3. Grab the loose light pink marble on the bottom row. Send it into the front-right light pink target Box.
  4. Look at the bottom of the central Mystery Box pillar. The lowest one is exposed. Tap it. If it matches black, red, or light pink, let it ride.
  5. Clear the front black Boxes completely before touching the left-side blue-striped block.

Dropping the Connected Boxes in Marble Sort Level 288

Once that first wave of black and red Boxes clears out, the lower board shifts. You will see light blue and green slide into the front row. Now we have to detonate the massive 2x2 traps.

  1. Verify you have at least four empty slots on your Conveyor Belt.
  2. Tap the left 2x2 Connected Boxes. This will dump black, red, and light pink down all at once.
  3. Because you cleared the initial front row, these colors should immediately funnel into the newly revealed red and light pink lower Boxes.
  4. Turn your attention to the right side. Check the lower board for light blue target Boxes. Once a light blue Box slides to the front, tap the right 2x2 Connected Boxes.
  5. This drops two light pinks and two light blues. Let them sort into the bottom Boxes to clear out the right side of the board.
  6. Start chipping away at the central Mystery Box column. Drop them one by one. Do not spam tap the column. Drop one, wait to see its color, and match it before dropping the next.

Surviving the Late Board Color Shift in Marble Sort Level 288

Once you break through the massive connected blocks and the upper middle section clears out, the board changes its identity entirely.

  1. The lower Boxes will suddenly demand purple and brown.
  2. You will see a cluster of brown and green marbles revealed in the upper left of the Top Tray, with a yellow block sitting high on the right.
  3. Prioritize the purple marbles that were trapped behind the right-side connected block earlier. Feed them into the new purple target Box that just slid forward on the right.
  4. Grab the newly revealed brown marbles from the upper left. Send them into the two brown target Boxes that appear in the center-left.
  5. Keep your Conveyor Belt totally clear. The final Mystery Box tiles at the very top of the central spine will likely hide the exact green or yellow you need to finish the final lower Boxes. Drop them carefully, one at a time, to close out the level.
