Marble Sort Level 231 Guide: The Surprise Bag Minefield

The dominant colors heavily featured right from the jump are Purple, Red, Light Pink, and later, Green and Orange. The Top Tray is shaped like a jagged, blocky cross. It pushes a massive cluster of free marbles right to the front, but traps the back half of the board behind five grey Surprise Bags.

The lower section matches this tricky pacing. The bottom Boxes start with an easy row of Purple and Red. Beneath that easy front layer sits a deep, nasty stack of Mystery Boxes. You cannot see what colors you will need for the midgame until you clear the front. The entire level is controlled by the Surprise Bags. If you open the grey fabric bags too early, you flood the board with random colors before the bottom section is ready to receive them.

The Cross Pattern and Hidden Traps in Marble Sort Level 231

Look at the exact layout of the Top Tray. The front-most row is a total giveaway. You have massive, dense clusters of marbles sitting right above the drop zone: a Purple cluster on the left, a Red cluster middle-left, a Light Pink cluster middle-right, and another Purple cluster on the far right.

This mirrors the starting active bottom Boxes perfectly. The bottom columns open with a Purple Box, a Red Box, another Purple Box, and a Red Box. This looks like an incredibly fast start. It is actually a trap to make you play too fast.

Behind that front line, the board gets ugly. The Top Tray opens up into a cross shape filled with single marbles—Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Brown, and Orange. Scattered straight through this grid are five Surprise Bags. These grey fabric bags are pure bait.

Look at the left wing of the cross. There is a single solid Red marble completely blocked by a Surprise Bag. Look at the right wing. A single Light Pink marble is trapped behind another Surprise Bag. You need those solid colors, but you have to gamble with the bag to reach them.

Meanwhile, the bottom section is hiding its true requirements. Once you clear the initial Purple and Red Boxes, the lower board shifts. You will suddenly be staring at Green and Orange Boxes, but sitting directly underneath them are rows of grey Mystery Boxes. The game forces a strict front-to-back reveal. You cannot plan your end-game moves because the Mystery Boxes keep the required colors hidden. The right side of the Conveyor Belt gets incredibly crowded first if you drop that early Light Pink cluster without having an active Light Pink Box ready to receive it.

Marble Sort Level 231 Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Order of execution is everything here. You have to take the free moves early, clear the visible colors next, and only touch the RNG elements when you have the belt space to survive them.

The Front-Line Giveaway in Marble Sort Level 231

The opening moves are entirely about taking what the board gives you without triggering the traps.

  1. Tap the big Purple cluster on the front-left of the Top Tray. Drop it straight into the active Purple Box in the first column.
  2. Tap the Purple cluster on the front-right. Drop it into the active Purple Box in the third column.
  3. Tap the front-left Red cluster. Route it into the active Red Box.
  4. Stop immediately. Do not touch the Light Pink cluster in the front row. There is no active Light Pink Box yet. If you drop it, those marbles will slide all the way to the right side of the Conveyor Belt and permanently clog your safety space.
  5. Do not tap any Surprise Bags. Leave the grey fabric completely alone for now.

Surviving the Midgame Clog in Marble Sort Level 231

Clearing that front line changes the entire board. The second layer of bottom Boxes activates. The board shifts from easy clusters to single-marble hunting.

  1. Check your new active bottom Boxes. You will see a new Red Box on the left, flanked by Green Boxes in the middle, and an Orange Box on the right.
  2. Pull the visible Green and Orange marbles from the center grid of the Top Tray. Feed them directly into these new Boxes.
  3. Now you must open a Surprise Bag. Target the bag on the far-left wing first.
  4. Opening this left wing bag serves two purposes. It clears a path to the solid Red marble trapped behind it, and it gives you a manageable amount of random marbles.
  5. Watch the Conveyor Belt pressure closely. Whatever colors pop out of that left bag, find their matching Boxes immediately. If a color drops that you don't need, leave it on the belt and pivot back to clearing the Green and Orange Boxes.
  6. As you finish the Green and Orange Boxes, the grey Mystery Boxes underneath them will finally flip.
  7. Immediately prioritize the newly revealed colors from the Mystery Boxes. Tap the bag on the far-right wing next to free the trapped Light Pink marble.

Clearing the Back Row in Marble Sort Level 231

By this point, the lower columns are mostly exposed. The Mystery Boxes are gone. You only have a few active Boxes left to fill.

  1. Attack the three remaining Surprise Bags located in the upper-middle of the Top Tray.
  2. Because you cleared the wings first, you have massive space on the Conveyor Belt to handle whatever random colors these final bags spit out.
  3. Once the bags are gone, the back row is completely exposed. Sweep the remaining Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Yellow marbles down into the final bottom Boxes to finish the board.
